I get this error when using VirtualBox:

VirtualBox error ID: Host memory low; unable to allocate and lock memory, the virtual machine will be passed, please close applications to free up memory.<br>

My PC RAM memory is 1 GB. Please help me to fix this.

  • VirtualBox shall run 2 OSes on your system simultaneously, so they demand a portion of RAM. Your PC RAM is too less, try upgrading your hardware, I have worked with 2 GB RAM with Appliance and Ubuntu as Host.

1 GB of ram should be enough (but slow), but perhaps you have tried to allocate too much of the RAM to the virtual machine (i.e., appliance). Make sure you have not allocated more than 512 MB to the appliance.
